III FIAM. New realities, bigger opportunities

 

In the Amazon International Fair (FIAM), Brazilian and foreign investors can get to know great business opportunities that the economic potential of the Amazon is able to offer, with its infrastructure, qualified labor and several other competitive advantages.

 

The fair publicizes the regions economic potential, including industrial and regional products, including industrial and regional products, made from the local raw material base, as well as tourist attractions, seeking sustainable development, and stimulating commercial, cultural, scientific and technological interchange.

 

In the FIAM program there is the exhibition of industrial and regional products and institutional projects, the presentation of seminars and speeches on several themes, specially related to sustainable development, biodiversity, tourism, technological innovation, formation of intellectual capital and others, mainly connected to regional sustainable development.

 

A great feature of FIAM is the management of business rounds, on event coordinated by SEBRAE with support from the Brazilian Export Promotion agency (APEX) in which micro, small, medium and large companies start and close partnerships.

 

In its third session, FIAM will show to Brazil and the world new ideas, solutions and business opportunities in the Amazon.

 

FIAM is a promotion by the Ministry of Industry, Development and International Commerce (MDIC), organized by Suframa, in partnership with the northern region state governments.

 

II FIAM – Amazon International Fair

 

-         It was held between September 15th and 18th 2004.

-         130 thousand visitors

-         300 guests, including nationals and foreigners

-         243 exhibitors

-         15 seminars, with 2.500 participants

-         Closed deals: R$ 11.2 million by micro and small companies

-         Space for the institutional representation of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization countries (OTCA), with the purpose of promoting greater economic and cultural integration between these countries and the Brazilian Amazon

-         Exclusive area directed at the economy and culture of the Amazonian indigenous people.
